This achievement is a testament to Anna’s contributions to the maritime industry, not only through her litigation role within the firm but also as a Lecturer in Maritime Law at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), an active researcher in Maritime Decarbonisation and a dedicated member of various maritime organisations, including WISTA UK, the London Shipping Law Centre (LSLC), the Liverpool and North West Propeller Club, Mersey Maritime and the International Propeller Club, Port of Piraeus, Greece.

The dispute concerns whether the UK’s right to restrict fishing trawlers for conservation reasons unnecessarily restricts agreed EU fishing rights in UK waters. This is the first time the parties have been locked in a courtroom battle since Brexit, and it is likely that the outcome of the case will have far reaching implications for future UK-EU trade relations.
