Mackinnons Staff Get Active for Ukraine

The staff at Mackinnons are virtually walking the width of Ukraine throughout the month of June!

As a firm, we like many others have been deeply troubled by the current situation in Ukraine. Following the Russian invasion, to date there have been thousands of civilian deaths as a direct result. Livelihoods have been ruined and thousands of civilians have had to leave their homes in search of safety.

We have decided to do our part in raising funds on behalf of the Red Cross which will go to those affected most, to provide much needed support during this devastating time. Over the whole month of June, all our staff will be clocking in the miles as we attempt to virtually walk/cycle the width of Ukraine – a mere 785miles!

With training underway and trainers at the ready, any donation would be greatly appreciated and will provide vital support to those in their time of need. We will be posting our progress weekly on our Linkedin page, with photos of our intrepid staff, so you will be able to keep up to date and cheer us on during our virtual journey!

Residential Property Quarterly Reflections and Insights

The latest quarterly report from the ASPC gives a reassuring picture of local market activity, with the house price index remaining, mostly, in the positive. The change in quarterly price is +1.5%, while the annual change is -0.5%. Taken over five years, the index is marginally positive at +0.4%. Buyers’ wariness over the short term may well affect property sales as they effectively “sit tight” to see what happens with interest rates. This may result in a sluggish Autumn/Winter market as moving plans are put on hold, but for the moment, there is still healthy demand for properties in desirable locations and in good condition.
