Legal Cashier

We are currently seeking a Legal Cashier to join our team within our busy cash room. This would be a good opportunity to advance your career through further study. This is a full time, permanent role based at our Carden Place office, reporting to the Head Cashier and Cash Room Manager.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Transactions: accurately handling the cashbook and sales ledger daily transactions which includes client and office accounts receipts, payments, journals and invoicing.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Complete the daily and monthly bank reconciliations for client funds held.
  • Client Ledger management: reviewing and working closely with the solicitors to ensure client ledgers are accurate and up to date. 
  • Reporting: assisting with the monthly financial reporting.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules.
  • Credit Control: assisting with credit control function.

 Qualifications:

  • Experience: preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
  • Skills: Strong numerical skills, attention to detail and proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge: a good understanding of the Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules would be preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication
