Promotions at Mackinnons

Mackinnons Solicitors LLP are delighted to announce a number of promotions across the firm. Gillian Smith becomes a Senior Associate within our Private Client department, Cameron Milne is elevated to the role of Senior Solicitor within our Commercial department, and Jackie Cocker has been appointed as Senior Property Advisor in the Residential Property department.

Gillian has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the private client team since joining Mackinnons in 2022. Gillian specialises in Will preparation and estate planning, Power of Attorney and capacity matters, and executry administration, assisting and supporting executors and beneficiaries in both straightforward and complex estates. Gillian has an approachable and helpful manner, and she provides her clients with sound, practical advice.   Based primarily in the firm’s Aboyne office, Gillian also meets clients across the firm’s other offices and in their own homes throughout Deeside.

Cameron joined the firm in 2022 and is engaged across the department's workload including dealing with ship sale and purchase transactions, fishing licence and quota matters, the preparation of finance and security documents, providing employment and immigration advice, and delivering general corporate and commercial advice and assistance. Based at the firm's office in Carden Place, Cameron's busy remit has seen him take on increasing responsibility which he has embraced with commitment and enthusiasm.

Jackie’s career in residential property began in Orkney in the 1990s, before moving to Aberdeenshire in 2000 to continue her practice. Jackie heads up the Estate Agency side of the firm's Aboyne office and her local knowledge is a huge asset to the firm. Her role takes her out and about on Deeside attending to pre-sale valuations, take-ons, viewings and all other property related matters. From the initial enquiry to the point of successfully negotiating a client’s sale, Jackie strives to ensure the sales process is as smooth and stress free as possible for her clients. Jackie’s friendly and outgoing personality combined with her honest and professional approach ensure that she delivers both a personal and tailored service to our clients.
